You’ve probably seen a lot of pictures popping up around the web with little girls wearing a tutu while walking down the processional aisle. I’ve personally seen these images go viral on Pinterest and Etsy, and I can attest that my very own charcoal tutu that I made is all over this site. With the economy the way it is, it’s no wonder. Maybe parents pay say $50-$100 for a traditional flower girl dress only to be worn once (maybe twice if your lucky). I guess she could wear it for dress up later on, but that’s about it.
The great thing about the flower girl wearing a tutu, aside from it being absolutely adorable, but it can be used over and over again. You basically get the most “bang for the buck” with the tutu approach. Think about it, she can wear it again for a birthday party. It would look smashing if she wore some funky brightly colored polka dot tights and a personalized birthday tee with the tutu (and of course, the party hair or hair bow – can’t forget that). Then she can wear it on the infamous October 31st to transform any mundane costume. My own child wears a tutu every year as part of her costume and you wouldn’t believe all the attention she gets. Here is an idea for you to ponder – take the basic white tutu, for example. Of course, this is the ideal option for the flower girl outfit. Then transform that into a bunny costume. I know this because that’s what my own daughter did one year. She wore it with white tights, a white top and fluffy marabou bunny ears (and face pant of course). Oh did she look cute. Never did I see such an adorable bunny costume and it was a great reuse of the flower girl tutu. Then here come photo shoots, which most parents partake in at one point in time. Enough of the boring “school clothes” for portraits – rethink “tutu.” Oh does that look precious and in this case less is more.
Having girls, it’s a natural solution for me. Go with the tutu approach. You’ll save money, time, and if you order one at my website, you’ll have such a large selection to choose from. I can even personally help you design your very own tutu if you want something different. Sometimes being the designer is exciting, I know.
It’s not really a dress per se’, but a tutu and a stunning top which we call a CORSET HALTER top. Tutu Girl’s stunning Black & White Damask Corset Halter Top with Ballet Pink Satin Ribbons and Ballet Pink Tulle Trim is amazing when paired with a tutu! This is a great solution when needing a top to go with her Flower Girl tutu, and looks equally amazing in portraits. The top ties halter style around the neck and the back closes with ribbon bows. Totally Unqiue – Totally Boutique! This particular top is paired with our Prima 18″ long tutu in Ballet Pink – unembellished (of course, you can pick any length) and our handcrafted matching ballet pink satin flower hair piece on a black skinny elastic band. So elegant.
Love this look but want a totally different color arrangement? No problem! We offer a growing selection of fabric so you can customize the top any way you like and you surely can pick any tutu we offer or you would like to design. We love custom orders. 🙂
